Contemporary Luxury Bedroom Suite for Roundhouse Barn

Sustainable living in a very real sense- all the original features of this Devon Roundhouse Barn, which dates from early in the last century, have been retained, while a brand-new Bedroom suite and wet-room have been created within the traditional building. The design of a 'pod' ensures that the modern intervention is distinguished from the original architecture. Losing none of its heritage, the design gives new purpose and life to a redundant agricultural building, ensuring its continued use and enjoyment for many more years.

The new interior designs for the building included upgrading all the infrastructure: plumbing, new electrics and insulation. Luxurious oak flooring and underfloor heating were installed, and the original openings were re-glazed, and remote-controlled blinds installed including at the high-level arrow-slit windows. The bespoke wet room with powerful shower reflects the angled shape of the building, and the restoration included replacing missing roof slates with slates from the original local quarry and re-pointing the stonework using traditional breathable materials & techniques.
